P-Valley: Renewed For Season 3 At Starz

Starz has confirmed the renewal of its hit drama series P-Valley for a third season. This comes as no surprise given that the show has continued to set records for the streamer during its first two seasons. P-Valley is Starz’s most popular show, with an average of 10.3 million viewers for each episode across linear, VOD, and streaming platforms. The impending third season, like the second season, which concluded in August, will consist of ten one-hour episodes.

P-Valley is based on Katori Hall’s play Pussy Valley and revolves around the often larger-than-life characters associated with the titular little strip club that could be the Pynk, which runs in the fictional town of Chucalissa in the rural Mississippi Delta. The show is billed as “where trap music meets cinema noir and dares to examine what happens when small-town inhabitants dream beyond the bounds of their constricted circumstances,” and it tells the “story of survival, chosen family, soulmates, politics, love, and death.”

Katori Hall, the creator of ‘P-Valley,’ discusses Season 2, Uncle Clifford and Lil’ Murda’s relationship, and the Abortion Storyline

“‘P-Valley’ continues to hold viewers’ attention as it depicts the subtleties of the Mississippi Delta with an extraordinary level of empathy and craftsmanship,” said Kathryn Busby, STARZ President of Original Programming. “This deep drama reaches past the glamor through authentic and fascinating characters that have won the hearts of critics and audiences alike. We are excited to see what Katori has in store for us in Season 3.”

P-Valley season 3 premiere date: When will it air?

The first and second seasons of P-Valley premiered on July 12, 2020, and June 3, 2022, respectively.

The wait for season three, on the other hand, could be much shorter. In fact, new episodes could debut as early as the summer of 2023, but only if the network acts quickly and makes it rain on this beloved show.

Who will appear in P-Valley Season 3?

P-Valley season three will almost certainly bring back the majority of the following cast members for at least one more dance:

  •  Brandee Evans as Mercedes Woodbine
  •  Nicco Annan as Uncle Clifford Sayles
  • Shannon Thornton as Keyshawn Harris/Miss Mississippi
  • Skyler Joy as Gidget
  • J Alphonse Nicholson as LaMarques/Lil Murda
  • Parker Sawyers as Andre Watkins
  • Harriett D. Foy as Patrice Woodbine
  • Dan J Johnson as Corbin Kyle
  • Tyler Lepley as Diamond
  • Morocco Omari as Big L
  • Dominic DeVore as Duffy
  •  Jordan M. Cox as Derrick Wright
  • Psalms Salazar as Whisper

The boss of P-Valley reacts to the departure of a character from Season 2

Elarica Johnson then stated why she decided to leave the show after only two seasons in another interview with EW:

“Looking at the scripts this season, as well as the characters’ journeys and where The Pynk was going, Autumn’s trip seemed to be coming to a conclusion. She had completed her duties and it was time for her to move on.”

But it’s not all terrible news. During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Nicco Annan told us exclusively that he’d want to respond with a loud yes:

“As an actor, this is an incredible journey. I’m completely aware of the fortunate situation I’m in. It’s taken a lot of effort to get here. It’s been a while. So I’m content. I’m content. Let’s go, it feels like. To be honest, it feels like the beginning.”

What will happen in the third season of P-Valley?

In some ways, P-second Valley’s season finale feels like a series finale. Uncle Clifford advised Mercedes to “imagine new dreams,” and it appears that everyone took his advice to heart. While Mercedes learned to enjoy retirement, Lil’ Murda and Uncle Clifford learned to openly love each other. Autumn, on the other hand, left Chucalissa to start a new life.

Now that Lil’ Murda and Uncle Clifford have made their relationship public, the implications could play a crucial role in future episodes. Things won’t be easy, especially since Autumn stole $40,000 from the company.

The following spoilers are for P-Valley

We’re as delighted as you are to return to the Pynk. Thankfully, season three of P-Valley has been announced! Katori Hall, showrunner, announced the announcement in October 2022, saying:

“With its rich, dynamic, and delightfully flawed characters, this program is a love letter to marginalized groups in the American South who rarely see themselves reflected on film, and it offers me enormous joy to know that it has been loved by folx globe. We couldn’t have gotten back on that pony without our faithful Pynk Posse.

“You are our fuel. And a special thanks to the fuel: everyone who helped put this concert together. This show is made with a lot of love, grit, and sparkle, from the writers and producers to the cast, crew, and executives. It’ll be a Mississippi minute before we’re back on your screens, but trust us when we say it’ll be well worth the wait.”

Hall is undoubtedly eager to get started. The characters are “constantly communicating to me,” the creator told Collider earlier this year.

“I’m continually coming up with new concepts,” Hall stated. She went on to say of the season two finale:

“We dived into some dark territory. This season, we went to a cave and crevice exploring. We shattered people’s souls. Our Pynk family can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and the audience is ready to laugh again.

“The season finale is very unforgettable. People who have been rooting for our Pynk family for a long time will be delighted with where we land, everyone.”
