The official teaser for Stranger Things season 4 gives us a closer look at several of the season’s elements, many of which we have already gained knowledge about. As we have seen in the teaser, Hopper is alive and has been captured by Russians who have been conducting their own Upside Down–related experiments, and Robert England as the mysterious (and murderous) Victor Creel is here to add some horror movie gravitas to the scary season. Eleven is living with the Byers in California and attempting to blend in with normal adolescent high school life.
The most recent trailer contributes to the excitement by providing a more in-depth look at key plot points, as well as providing a glimpse into Max’s story and introducing a brand new dangerous adversary. When we return to the conclusion of season 3, we find Max weeping over the sacrifice made by her brother Billy while standing at his gravesite. As a spy for the Upside Down stationed in Hawkins, he was used by the Mindflayer to further their nefarious plan of achieving global dominance. Since he is no longer around, it seems that Max is the new target. Will she be able to recover the skills that Eleven had previously possessed?
Stranger Things (Season 4 – Volume 2)
Even though there will be a break of some sort between the first and second halves of the season, it won’t be nearly as long as you might think. The second volume of Stranger Things season 4 will be available on Netflix beginning July 1. Therefore, there is only a short amount of time between the two parts.
We are aware that there will be a total of nine episodes for this season. Netflix has not provided any explanation regarding the manner in which they divided the episodes between the two volumes. The most sensible division would be either into groups of five and four or four and five. It is a little strange that the streaming platform has not made that information public yet.
Regardless of how the first part of the story wraps up, however, I have no doubt that it will leave us on an extremely tense note. These Duffer brothers certainly know how to keep us right where they want us to be in the palm of their hands.
Regrettably, the conclusion of the series is drawing near. A previous announcement made by Netflix stated that the show would be given a fifth and final season of production. The time has come for us to part ways. But for the time being, let’s just enjoy the ride, and here’s to the fact that Stranger Things will finally return very soon!
